This post continues our focus on how volunteers have helped with Holy Trinity Lutheran Church’s (HTLC) ministries throughout 2025. Next week we will conclude this series of Blog posts on how volunteers have impacted all the ministries we do at Holy Trinity. Each week we have focused on a different area of impact including Sundays, Daily impact and Special Events.Â
This week’s focus is on the Daily Impact of volunteers:
Our property committee has helped with the upkeep of the church facilities as well as the grounds of the church. They have spent time mowing grass, raking leaves, removing snow, and trimming trees. They have helped coordinate tests and inspections so that our alarms and other various equipment continue to function safely. Two of the biggest days for the property committee’s upkeep of our grounds were the Spring and Fall Cleanup days. The committee and the other volunteers were able to clean the stairwells, move mulch, clear drain covers, clean out flower beds, reset clocks, and replace lights in preparation for the changes in weather.Â
Our volunteers for the HTLC Quilters are hard at work all year round. They craft quilts for Lutheran World Relief. The quilters also provide quilts for Jubilee Christmas and help to make an impact in our local community by providing quilts for families in need in the Lafayette area.Â
Another one of our year-round ministries is our Sunday services at our neighborhood senior living communities. HTLC members lead a worship service each week at Rosewalk Village Skilled Care and services about every other Sunday at St. Mary’s Healthcare Center. Our volunteers also help residents of these communities participate in worship.Â
It is also important to acknowledge the work our Church Council has contributed over the past year and give thanks to their willingness to volunteer to serve and support HTLC’s
mission. Recent members who have concluded their terms, remaining members, and
new members have provided support to staff and church committees in many ways including the call process for a new pastor, management of church finances, coordinating congregational meetings, and hiring a new administrative assistant. Thank you to the members that helped to cover administrative responsibilities until a new administrative assistant was hired. Lastly, a special shout out to our Faith and Finance Team who helps HTLC fulfill its purpose statement: "Empowered by the Spirit, we love and serve in Jesus' name."Â
We are grateful for groups like our Property Committee, Quilters, Church Council, and all others who make a daily impact in our HTLC faith community. Thank you for all of your help in 2025 and we look forward to continue with our HTLC volunteers in 2026.Â
