Thank You For Making Jubilee Christmas A Success!; Pictures of HTLC volunteers and Jubilee Families at Jubilee Christmas 2025

Thanks for Jubilee Support

We had a wonderful day of smiles, chatter, and generosity this past Saturday for Jubilee Christmas 2025.

HTLC members responded to various opportunities to help our guest families. Congregation members selected 49 clothing tags and made sure the kids would be going back to school in January with a new set of clothes. Girl Scouts led the way with cookie baking and allowed us to provide many different kinds of homemade cookies. By the time Saturday arrived, the church was loaded with laundry baskets filled with supplies, warm and colorful cuddle blankets, beautiful handmade hats and scarf sets, a mountain of quilts, boxes of cookies and toys.

Jobs included a brave parking lot welcome team, greeters, hosts, toy table restockers, baggage handlers, gift wrapping artisans, a friendly pastor, a hospitality team, and even a farewell send-off squad. These good people devoted their morning to learning more about our guest families and sharing the joy of Christmas with them. When the last mom left, the remaining toys and supplies were loaded into Debra's truck for a ride to the site of Jubilee 2 and 3. Not all parents who applied for a church Jubilee experience could be accommodated at a church site, so toys remaining after we finished at Holy Trinity would find a home with a family invited to an afternoon event at Oakland Academy.

A big thank you to everyone...

  • Financial Contributors who made the gift cards for food, and older children gifts possible
  • Shoppers who donated clothes, toys, cleaning supplies and the cookie bakers too
  • Volunteers who showed up on Saturday morning at 8AM including Pastor Cohen
  • Church cleaning crew who worked around Jubilee to get our house of worship ready for Sunday morning
  • Planning team (Judy Lokke, Cheryl Schrier, Missy Parrish, Janelle Uerkwitz, Pat Garrott, Stephanie Crowe, Mary Anderson, and Sue Davis)

From first "Welcome" to the last "Merry Christmas" farewell, our congregation joined together with others in our community to make the spirit of the season a tangible expression of God's love.

Sign Up to Be a Worship Assistant for Christmas

We have two more openings in the month of December to help with worship: Christmas Eve Service and Sunday Worship December 28th. If you are interested in helping out with service, please fill out the form in the narthex, or sign up here. We need volunteers to read the lessons, help with communion, and flip slides for the congregation. If you have any questions, you can visit the Sunday Service Volunteer webpage.

Topic for Sunday, December 21st: Unboxing the Mystery of Advent

What does Advent mean for us? How is it a part of the church year calendar? We will talk about the explosion of the Advent calendar market in recent years to consider the meaning of the season and how to prepare for Christ's coming.

Read the news related to this topic before attending this bible study to be prepared for an engaging conversation.

Adding Events to Church Calendar

Do you have an event to add to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Calendar?

Please fill out the HTLC event form so we have the necessary information to not only add it to the church calendar but also have the necessary details to highlight it in the ePistle, our website and social media if requested.

Thank you!
